Thursdays are Alemitu's shampoo & style days. She has been home for 4 1/2 months and I still feel like I'm just getting used to her hair. She has more styling products and accessories than I have ever had. One thing I am told over and over again is that it is okay for her to cry when I'm doing her hair. You have to get those many, many tangles out each day and it hurts. However if you don't pull their hair now then it will be harder when they get older and are tender headed. So I pull, she screams. It isn't fun for either of us. BUT I am happy to say that the last few weeks there haven't been tears. Maybe a whine here or there out of boredom mostly, but no screaming fits!! It is getting easier.
Because it is getting easier, I thought I would try something a little more difficult tonight. I didn't really have much of a plan in mind, but I just kind of went with a random veil style with some twists. I'm not sure the twists will hold up all week (especially since she goes underwater a ton of times every time she is in the pool) so I thought I'd get a few pictures in tonight in case they don't. Stay tuned for more Thursday hairstyles.
I couldn't resist taking a photo of Alemi cuddling up to her new bear. For all those parents of small children -- these bears are only $29.99 at Costco right now. Seriously. We snatched one up when we saw that price.
Too stinkin' cute! Ty cuddles up to an overstuffed puppy, he loves to cuddle with it. Alemitu's hair looks great, good job mom!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen this blog? I love it-http://www.happygirlhair.com/
ReplyDeleteShe talks about the detangling on little ones and how when she first had her girls she used combs and it was torture for everyone. She learned to just use her fingers and only have to do it once a week. I have ordered lots of products based on her reviews too!
